Compton and Chandlers Ford Cricket Club Indoor 2nd Team v Fair Oak III on Sun 18 Nov 2012 at 20.30
Compton and Chandlers Ford Cricket Club Lost by 35 runs

Match report Unfortunately, the 2XI couldn’t follow up their clinical performance last time out. A collapse of England proportion from the batsmen, ensured C&CF were on the wrong end of a comprehensive defeat.
After winning the toss ahead of indoor cricket’s 8.30 ‘Graveyard Shift’, C&CF enjoyed a steady, if unspectacular start. All the bowlers were patient enough to restrict the Fair Oak to less than 10-an-over for the first half of the innings.
However, as the batsmen went in search of quick runs, Compton capitalised. Several quick wickets fell, Matt the main beneficiary with 2 wickets and a run out. Zach, Josh and Andy also bowled tidily, as was Martin; making his debut behind the stumps. Two lusty blows in the final over were unable to dampen C&CF spirits; who felt they were in a strong position.

But…

What can only be described as an utter capitulation from the batsmen meant the 2XI were never in the hunt. Martin was the only man to make double figures as he batted superbly for 34 not out. Unfortunately he, much like Alastair Cook in Ahmedabad this week, was just left too much to do.
